Ernest Morrisey, 37, was apprehended when Officer Corey Ashe stopped a vehicle around 5 p.m. on Route 301 for a routine traffic violation, said Kent Chief of Police Alexander DiVernieri.
Morrisey, who was a passenger in the vehicle, was identified after Ashe performed a computer check on the occupants in the vehicle, and found that he was wanted on multiple warrants in Connecticut for probation violations, DiVernieri said.
He was charged with being a fugitive from justice and is being held at the Putnam County Correctional Facility until he is extradited to Connecticut.
