Free Tax Help From AARP Available in Peekskill

PEEKSKILL, N.Y. -- The deadline for city residents to file their taxes is getting close but those with questions can get help over the next few weekends.

Volunteers from AARP, formerly known as the American Association of Retired Persons, is providing free help with tax preparation for all city residents on Fridays leading up to the April 15 tax deadline.

The volunteers will be located on the lower level of the neighborhood center at 4 Nelson Ave. in the emergency management office on Fridays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Residents are urged to bring last year's tax information and current tax documents with them.

No appointments will be taken, and it will be first-come, first-serve.
