BEDFORD, N.Y. One day after Fox Lanes bats went quiet against Briarcliff, the Foxes baseball team rebounded with an 11-run performance against Ossining on Wednesday.
Dion Austrie led the way with four RBI as the Foxes routed the Pride, 11-1. Drew Fopeano and Chris Tomassi drove in two runs apiece. James Laitman drove in Matt Belitz for Ossinings lone run.
No Ossining pitcher went more than two innings on Wednesday. Laitman gave up five earned runs on five hits in two innings. Mike Haag came on in relief and pitched two hitless innings, but Ronald Del Cid then allowed five more earned runs on four hits in just one inning. Derek Badger allowed one earned run on one hit in his one inning of work.
Fox Lanes Robby Seraita struck out five, walked three and allowed just one earned run on four hits in six and one-third innings. Henry Jacobs closed out the game and did not give up a hit.
The Foxes' two main offensive outbursts came in the second and fifth innings in which they scored four and five runs, respectively.
