Flood Watch Continues

UPDATE: The powerful storm that pushed through the area dumping up to 2 inches of rain an hour, caused flooded roads, scattered power outages and downed tree limbs. A flood watch is in effect until 6 p.m. Friday.

After the storm moves through this afternoon, the forecast call for cool, clear weather tonight and Saturday.

No major delays were reported on Metro-North. Town officials urged drivers to be cautious. Drivers were warned not to drive on flooded streets because standing water can be deeper than it appears.

On Thursday, Easton and Redding schools canceled after-school activities.
