Louis DiMeglio is the New Rochelle Fire Department's new chief. DiMeglio takes over duties for Raymond "Doc" Kiernan, who retired July 30 after 45 years of service.
How excited are you about the new position?
Im very excited to be able to serve the citizens of New Rochelle in this capacity.
What are your goals?
Im looking forward to continuing to deliver our high level of service and will always be looking for ways to improve on it.
What is the best thing about the New Rochelle Fire Department?
The best thing about the New Rochelle Fire Department is the depth of training of its members. Im especially proud of the dedication and hard work they exhibit not only in responding to emergencies but also in their daily routines.
What are you most looking forward to as the new chief of the department?
Im looking forward to meeting the unique and varied challenges that present itself to us in our everyday work.
How have things been going so far?
The new duties are a change from my most recent work as a line officer, but bring together all of my abilities and experience. Things have been going remarkably smooth.
