Westport Police, with an assist from Darien officers, arrested five people wanted for stealing liquor from the Greens Farm Spirit Shop. A search of the suspects car turned up more than $6,000 worth of over-the-counter medications and cosmetics taken from numerous Shoreline CVS and Walgreens Pharmacies.
The Westport Police responded to the theft report from Greens Farms Spirit Shop where witnesses gave a description of the suspects and vehicle. That information was sent out to patrol units in Westport and surrounding towns. A short time later according to police, Darien officers had the suspects stopped on Interstate 95 near Exit 9.
Four of the suspects come from Brooklyn, N.Y.: Crystal Josef, 34; Levi B. Daniel, 28; Lisa Corbin-Springer, 27 and Lavone Williams, 23. The fifth, Tashiem Saquan Williams, 25, is from Richmond, Va.
All five were charged with third-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit third-degree larceny. Daniel was also charged with sixth-degree larceny while the rest of the group faces a charge of conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny. Bond for each of them was set at $250,000.
