FAIRFIELD, Conn. Five Bridgeport women, including two teenagers, were charged in connection with a shoplifting incident at Kohls department store in Fairfield Thursday. The group took nearly $2,000 worth of merchandise from the store, police say.
Kohls store security told police that they witnessed Chameira Pollard, 25, take various items into the stores dressing room Thursday. They then saw Pollard walk out of the room and toward the store exit with Tameka Bennett, 19, Jessica Antwan, 20, and two 16-year-olds.
The women walked past all registers without paying, but security found various items of clothing and jewelry on Pollard, and police saw the two 16-year-olds placing items they did not pay for in the car, according to the police report. The total value of the items was $1,977.
Pollard and the two juveniles were charged with fourth-degree larceny and conspiracy Thursday. Bennett and Antwan were also charged with conspiracy. All five were released on a promise to appear in court. The 16-year-olds will face charges on Dec. 12, and the three adults will go to court on Dec. 13.
