Five Arrested After Violent Robbery In Levittown

A violent dispute at a New York home spiraled into a robbery and assault, resulting in five arrests, police announced on Monday, Feb. 2.

Officers were called to a residence on Barnyard Lane in Levittown around 9:40 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 1, where a verbal argument between two men escalated into a physical confrontation, according to Nassau County detectives.

Michael Nero, 54, of Levittown, and Matias Marquez, 39, of Elmont, were initially involved before three others — Pablo Munoz Rivera, 49, and Jennifer Marrero, 51, both of Bridgeton, New Jersey, and John Stansbury, 38, of Morristown, New Jersey — joined the altercation, police explained.

During the fight, Marquez was punched and kicked, and his wallet containing multiple credit cards was stolen, investigators said. A 38-year-old woman was also struck on the arm with a black metal object by Marrero, causing redness and swelling. Police said Nero then pushed and shoved the woman while verbally threatening her.

After the confrontation, Marquez got into a gray 2020 Subaru and attempted to strike the others who were standing in the roadway, missing them but crashing into a parked black 2019 Chevrolet Tahoe, according to police.

All five defendants were taken into custody without further incident. Police said all parties refused medical treatment at the scene.

Rivera was charged with: Robbery in the Second Degree. Robbery in the Second Degree.

Nero was charged with: Robbery in the Second Degree. Robbery in the Second Degree. Criminal Contempt in the First Degree. Harassment in the Second Degree.

Marrero was charged with: Robbery in the Second Degree. Robbery in the Second Degree. Assault in the Second Degree.

Stansbury was charged with: Robbery in the Second Degree. Robbery in the Second Degree.

Marquez was charged with: Reckless Endangerment in the First Degree. Criminal Mischief in the Third Degree.

All five defendants were arraigned Monday, Feb. 2, at First District Court in Hempstead, police said.
