While many parents consider the first day of school the start of something new, Claire Plowright had a different perspective when she dropped off daughter Heather at Miller-Driscoll for the first day of kindergarten.
"I am excited because it is the start of a new era for her, but sad because it is also the end of an old one," said Plowright, who also has a 3-year-old son.
