The blaze broke out in a condominium complex along Grand Avenue around 8:30 a.m., bringing fire companies from surrounding towns to the scene.

Photos from the scene show flames and smoke coming from multiple buildings.

Leonia Fire Chief John Dunn tells News12 the fire is believed to have started in a garage, where a door was left open, allowing flames to move into one of the units. High winds in the courtyard pushed the flames from one building to another, Dunn told the outlet. No injuries were reported.

The American Red Cross is assisting the families displaced.
