The crash happened on Route 17 westbound just after Exit 120 in the Town of Wallkill on Monday, Aug. 31, according to the Town of Wallkill Police Department.
According to 511NY traffic reports, the incident was first reported at 7:14 a.m. near Exit 120E for Wickham Avenue and Route 211 East.
The state traffic service listed the incident as a crash investigation involving a fatality and injuries.
Both westbound lanes were closed, but have reopened as of 12:15 p.m., New York State Police confirmed.
More details about the number of people involved or the severity of the injuries have not yet been released.
