WESTPORT, Conn. (UPDATE 2:45 p.m.) Westport police have reopened Bridge Street between Compo Road South and Imperial Avenue. The street was closed for about an hour after a tree fell in the roadway and brought down power lines.

Attention Westport drivers: Bridge Street was closed between Compo Road South and Imperial Avenue due to a fallen tree that brought down power lines. Police sent out an electronic message at about 1:50 p.m. advising drivers to avoid the area until further notice.
