The shots “appeared to be coming from the area of 8th Street or 9th Street, between Kamena Street and Kennedy Drive,” Police Chief Frank Del Vecchio said.
The officers then saw a dark-colored SUV in the distance race off, tires screeching, the chief said.
This isn’t something that ordinarily happens in town, Del Vecchio said.
“It’s a mission of the Fairview Police Department to keep our community safe from harm,” he said.
Del Vecchio asked that anyone who may have heard, saw or know something about the incident to contact his detectives: 201-943-3655
