FAIRFIELD, Conn. Virginia H. Green, a longtime Fairfield resident, died March 17, surrounded by family. She was 87.
She was born Feb. 12, 1925, in Bridgeport, Conn., and was married to Louis J. Green for 64 years. A member of the Chante Girls and United Methodist women's organization, Green also sang in the choir.
She is survived by her husband; her daughters, Donna Green of Fairfield and Nancy (John) Gudzik of Fairfield; her sisters, Evelyn Ostberg and Ruth Hurd; her brothers, Wallace (Nancy) Hurd and William Hurd; her brother-in-law, Dean Amelung, and a grandson.
A funeral service will be held at noon March 24 at the Golden Hill United Methodist Church in Bridgeport. Friends may greet the family at the church from 11 a.m. up until the service. The Spear-Miller Funeral Home in Fairfield is assisting the family with arrangements.
