The online auction is part of the school’s only fundraising event and features two packages to the 2016 Summer Olympics Games in Rio de Janeiro, which include tickets to the opening ceremonies.
The auction also includes more than 200 items and experiences, such as Hamilton tickets, golf at Trump Ferry Point, and dinners at Bonda, Harlan Social and the James Beard House.
“We are thankful to the sizable contributions from our corporate donors including The Blue Buffalo Co., Ice Energy, Brick+Wood, Live Nation, Verde Energy, Henry C. Reid & Son, Kirkland & Ellis, among others,” said Patricia Brady, principal of St. Thomas Aquinas School. “Their support and the generosity of our community are what have allowed our school to thrive for the last 95 years.”
In addition to the online auction, the school also will have its "2016 Spring to Auction Benefit." at 7 p.m. Friday. The benefit is open to the public and is at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic School.
During the event, the school will be transformed into a South American-inspired venue. Mojitos will be poured, food from Bodega will be served and cigars will be rolled while live Latin music is provided by Cosmic Jibaros.
“This year by leveraging technology, we are able to offer anyone with access to the internet the ability to win unique items while benefiting education,” said Erin Russell, parent and co-chair of the St. Thomas Aquinas 2016 Spring to Auction Benefit. “We have been successful in procuring these amazing items in part due to our new, sponsorship program. Our sponsors are being recognized with high visibility signage on our prime, Post Road location, advertising in the church bulletins, and ATM screens at Wheels gas stations via Paramount marketing.”
