Fairfield Prep Runners Set School Records

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Fairfield Prep distance medley team finished ninth and shattered a school record in the New Balance Indoor track and field national championships last weekend at the Armory in New York.

The team of Pat Corona, Adam Vare, Christian Alvarado and Connor Rog ran 10:17.95. During the course of the winter, the relay shaved more than 20 seconds off of the school mark.

Rog added an eighth place finish in the two-mile run, setting a school record of 9:08.82. He narrowly missed the state record of 9:08.75, which was set in 1975. Rog finished the indoor season ranked No. 1 in New England in the two-mile and 3,200 meters.

Fairfield Warde’s Harry Warnick ran 9:17.66 in the two-mile and finished 18th.
