Explicit Facebook Page Probed in New Canaan

NEW CANAAN, Conn. – How a New Canaan girl’s name and pictures ended up on a  phony Facebook page linked to a gallery of explicit photos is the subject of an investigation by New Canaan Police.

The girl, identified only as a teenager under 17 years old, reported last Tuesday that someone had created a fictitious Facebook page using her photos, officers said. A link on the page led to a page with pornographic pictures, though none of the pictures of the girl were explicit, police said. The fake Facebook page has since been taken down. Police said a friend of the girl’s noticed the page and alerted her to it.
