At 5:39 p.m., on Sunday, March 31, 2024, Easter Sunday, Hamilton police responded to 13 Lewis Dr. and found Gary Johnson, 81, dead, the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office said. Johnson had multiple wounds to his head and body, authorities said.
An investigation found Eileen Bright used a household statue and kitchen knife to commit the murder, authorities said. The jury rejected Bright's insanity defense, authorities said.
She was convicted of murder in the first degree, unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, authorities said.
