At 6:39 P.M., police responded to Clive Hills Road following a 911 call from Gregory Ginzburg, 72, reporting that Igor Kirilenko was inside his residence with a firearm, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Chief Thomas Bryan of the Edison Police Department said.
Upon their arrival, police found Ginzburg with a fatal gunshot wound and Kirilenko unharmed, authorities said. Ginzburg was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.
Kirilenko was arrested the next day and charged with murder in the first degree and a weapons charge, authorities said. He is being held pending a detention hearing, authorities said.
