Get out your sleds and stock up on hot chocolate, Easton. There is no school until Tuesday, Jan. 18, for kids in elementary and middle school. School has been canceled for Thursday because of the snowstorm, which dropped more than a foot of snow on the town. Friday is a teacher work day with no school and Monday is Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
In addition, Region 9 schools are closed Thursday, which means Joel Barlow High School will not hold classes. But Friday is scheduled as a regular school day.
This will give Easton's younger students a full six days without classes. However, school offices and the board of education office will be open Thursday and Friday.
