Dylan Keith Shenk, 34, of the 1200 block of Newport Road in Penn Township, was arrested following an investigation that began on Thursday, May 14, according to the Northern Lancaster County Regional Police.

The investigation started after NLCRPD’s Criminal Investigation Division received a report that a child had been raped by a male caregiver, police said.

The child was taken to an area hospital for a medical examination, where she disclosed she had been raped hours earlier and sexually assaulted on multiple previous occasions by Shenk, according to investigators.

Police said the child provided “very descriptive details” about specific acts and items allegedly used during the assaults.

Detectives quickly obtained a search warrant for Shenk’s home and property on Newport Road to search for the items described by the child and document evidence inside the residence, authorities detailed.

At approximately 8:34 p.m. on Thursday, May 14, detectives and patrol officers served the warrant and took Shenk into custody, police said.

Shenk was transported to NLCRPD headquarters for questioning and was “forthcoming” about where some of the items connected to the assaults were located, according to investigators.

Shenk also made a post on Facebook that read: “The longer you stay celibate, the idea of someone touching you who doesn’t meet your wants or needs... mentally, spiritually or physically will make you feel sick.”

As a result of the investigation, Shenk was charged with:

  • Felony rape of a child — two counts.
  • Felony involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child — one count.
  • Felony aggravated indecent assault of a child less than 13 years old — one count.
  • Felony unlawful contact with a minor — one count.
  • Felony endangering the welfare of children — one count.
  • Felony corruption of minors — one count.
  • Felony indecent assault of a person less than 13 years old — three counts.

Bail was denied because “no condition or combination of conditions can ensure the public safety,” according to court records.

Court records show Shenk also has an active Lancaster County DUI drug case stemming from a December 2025 arrest, with a guilty plea hearing scheduled for June 11.

A preliminary hearing in the child rape case has been scheduled for May 26 at 9 a.m. before Judge Torrey J. Landis, court records show.
