To make sure that happens, the Dutchess County Department of Emergency Response will hold a Citizen’s Preparedness Corps Training Program on Tuesday, Nov. 24 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Dutchess Community College, Drumlin Hall, at 53 Wendell Road.
This training session is part of the ‘kick off’ for the department's citizen preparedness training initiative which will be offered throughout the county in 2016.
The two-hour training session is designed to provide participants with the tools and resources to better prepare for any type of disaster. Participants will learn how to respond accordingly in a disaster and recover as quickly as possible to pre-disaster conditions.
The program is being provided by the NYS Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Services in conjunction with the NYS Division of Military and Naval Affairs.
The event is open to the public and free to attend; however, pre-registration is required. Doors to the event will open at 6:30 p.m. Each family will receive a free Citizen Preparedness Corps Response Starter Kit.
