The 48-ounce Iced Beverage Buckets are returning to participating locations nationwide, Dunkin' announced in a blog post on Wednesday, July 29. The limited-time buckets will be available on Friday, Aug. 7, while supplies last.

Customers can buy a bucket for $12.99, filled with their choice of Dunkin' iced coffee or a Refresher.

"Whether you're heading to the beach, spending the day by the pool or running weekend errands, our Iced Beverage Buckets make it easy to keep the summer sips flowing," Dunkin' said.

The buckets can be filled with newer drinks like the Cherry Lime Rickey Refresher, Pink Pineapple Sparkling Refresher, or Iced Coffee with Peanut Butter Swirl.

Dunkin' is also launching a custom holder designed to secure the massive drink inside a standard car cup holder. The chain said customers requested an easier way to travel with the buckets during their viral test run in Massachusetts and New Hampshire in February.

Rewards members with Boosted Status started getting exclusive online access to the bucket holders on July 29.

"Guests made one thing clear: they loved the buckets and wanted an easier way to bring them along for whatever their day has in store," the chain said. "Dunkin' started designing the bucket holder while the test was still underway, making it even easier for guests to bring their bucket with them all summer long."

The initial trial was wildly successful, with Dunkin' locations quickly selling out as customers showed off the enormous drinks on TikTok and Instagram. Dunkin' later launched the buckets nationwide for Memorial Day weekend, but some stores only received 25 containers.

Enormous drinks gained popularity after 7-Eleven launched the Big Gulp in the 1970s. The sodas were first available in 32 ounces, but even larger sizes were added, including the 64-ounce Double Gulp.

Headquartered in Canton, Massachusetts, Dunkin' has more than 14,200 locations worldwide.
