Drowning Reported At Fair Haven State Park

A large-scale search is underway after a reported drowning at a New York State Park with a popular campground on Tuesday afternoon, July 14, State Police announced.

Troopers responded to Little Sodus Bay at Fair Haven State Park in Cayuga County at approximately 3:30 p.m., following a report of a drowning, police said.

Multiple agencies are searching the water, including the Cayuga County Sheriff's Office Marine Patrol, Wayne County Sheriff's Office Marine Patrol, Fair Haven Fire Department boat team, the United States Coast Guard, and the New York State Police Underwater Recovery Team, authorities said.

Members of the New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation are also assisting at the scene, police said.

The investigation remains ongoing.
