At 8:36 p.m., officers were dispatched to Double Trouble State Park after a man called 911 and said he was lost and dragging his kayak through the woods, Berkeley Township said. Phone contact was soon lost, police said.
Officers obtained the coordinates of the 9-1-1 call, which showed last contact to be about a half mile south of the 10th hole on Cedar Creek Golf Course, police said.
The Berkeley Township Police Drone was subsequently deployed and the subject was located, law enforcement said.
The man had two people in the woods looking for him, so the drone pilot used the drone's thermal camera to locate the men and guide them out of the woods, police said.
No injuries were reported, police said.
