Mary Midkiff, 33, was arrested last Wednesday on a warrant stemming from a car accident on Oct. 23. Midkiff was driving her 1997 Volvo 850 on Hollow Tree Ridge Road near Wheat Lane when she allegedly struck a pole and a stone wall. She was taken to Norwalk Hospital and treated for her injuries. Darien police issued a search warrant for her blood results and it was found she had been over the legal limit. She was charged with DWI and failure to drive right. She was released on a promise to appear in court on Feb. 19.

John McLane III, 31, of Stamford turned himself into Darien police last Thursday after a warrant was issued for his arrest concerning an accident on Jan. 18. McLane went off the road on a curve on Middlesex Road at 4:10 a.m. and crashed his Dodge Caravan. He was taken to Norwalk Hospital, and a search warrant was issued for his blood results. It was found that he was over the legal limit, and a warrant was issued for DWI, driving too fast for conditions and driving without a seatbelt. He was released on a promise to appear in court on Feb. 15.
A navigation system was taken from a car on Brookside Drive last Thursday. The car had been left unlocked in the driveway the night before. The device was worth between $100 and $125, according to the owner.
