The driver of an SUV that went off the road, down an embankment and through a wooden fence at Hillspoint Road and Smokey Lane in Westport Saturday morning was not hurt.
When Westport firefighters arrived shortly after 11 a.m., the driver, the only occupant, was out of the SUV and did not require medical care, Assistant Chief Larry Conklin said.
The road was closed for about 30 minutes as tow truck operators removed the car from the scene. Westport police were investigating the cause of the accident.
