A motorist whose car was found in a ditch off North Avenue had to be taken to Norwalk Hospital on Saturday afternnoon. Shortly after 1 p.m., Westport firefighters responded to North Avenue near Charcoal Hill Road and found a car off the road. The driver's side door had to be forced open in order to remove the driver, Assistant Fire Chief Robert Kepchar reported.
Westport police were investigating to determine the cause of the accident.
