FAIRFIELD, Conn. A driver involved in a rollover accident on the Post Road in Fairfield last month was charged Tuesday with driving under the influence, police report. Brian Dolyak, 19, of Stratford, was hospitalized after his vehicle collided with a telephone pole and a building last month.
The accident occurred at 3:15 a.m. on May 28. Dolyak was heading east when he drifted off the road, hitting a pole, a parked car and the building at 2137 Post Road, police said. When emergency crews arrived the car was empty, sitting on its side, police say.
Dolyak was found down the road without a shirt, with cuts on his body, according to police reports. He failed a field sobriety test before being taken to Bridgeport Hospital for treatment, police say. His medical records later showed that he was over the legal limit, according to police reports.
Dolyak was arrested on a warrant Tuesday afternoon and charged with driving under the influence while under the age of 21, and failure to drive right. He was released on a promise to appear in court July 9.
