Private services were planned for Stamford resident Donald W. Accurso, a former J.M. Wright Technical High School teacher who died Jan. 20 at St. Camillius Health Care Center. He was 76.
Accurso was born May 24, 1934, in Port Chester, N.Y. He operated and owned Oils Inc. for several years. At Wright, he taught HVAC.
Accurso, a singer and musician, was a member of the Donatones, a band he established. He also was a fan of the Giants and Mets.
He is survived by wife Greta Accurso; daughters Donna Accurso, Jamie Accurso Califano, Greta Yaeger and husband James, Nancy Accurso Boccuzzi, and Donna Marie James; and two brothers, a sister, 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a daughter and son-in-law.
Lacerenza Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8 Schuyler Ave., Stamford, handled funeral arrangements.
