At 6:27 p.m., firefighters responded to a garage fire in Fox Hollow, Whiting Fire Company Station 33 said. Nearby neighbors used a fire extinguisher to help slow the fire's spread, firefighters said.
All residents were safely accounted for and firefighters were able to contain the fire to the garage, fire officials said.
Crews also made entry into the home and safely removed a dog, who was unharmed and reunited with its owners, firefighters said.
No injuries were reported, firefighters said.
