Derby Walmart To Close This Summer

SHELTON, Conn. -- Shelton and Stratford shoppers who frequent the Derby Walmart store will soon have to find a new place to shop once the store closes in July, according to the Connecticut Post.

The Derby Walmart store will close in July. Store officials are hoping to find other jobs for the 150 employees who will be displaced.

Some 150 employees have been notified of the decision to close the store at 656 New Haven Ave. Store officials told the Connecticut Post that they hoped to help them find jobs at other Walmart stores in Shelton and Stratford, said the Connecticut Post.

City officials have also been notified of the company's decision to close the store, added the Connecticut Post.
