Darien's softball team scored 11 runs in the first two innings Thursday on the way to a 12-4 rout of Danbury in a Fairfield County Interscholastic Athletic Conference game. It was the 12th straight win for the Blue Wave.
Emma Hamilton ripped three hits, including a triple, and had two RBIs to spark Darien's offense. Emily Blosio had two hits and Kelly Fahey smacked a three-run double as Darien cranked out 10 hits against Danbury's pitchers. Darien scored three in the first and eight in the second to take control against the Hatters (12-5 overall, 10-5 FCIAC). Danbury could be one of Darien's opponents in the upcoming FCIAC playoffs.
Jess DeMaio improved to 15-1 for Darien. The Blue Wave meets unbeaten Westhill on Monday, then finishes the regular season with games Wednesday against Bridgeport Central and Friday against Fairfield Warde.
