Pre-readers ages 5 and under are welcome to join the Read-to- Me Club and for every 10 books they read with a grown-up they will receive a free book (up to three).
Independent readers up to age 12 are invited to join the Summer Reading Club and accept the Olympic Reading Challenge of reading a range of 20 different genres and types of books. Olympic Reading Challenge finishers will have their name entered into the Grand Prize Raffle.
Just for registering to participate in either Summer Reading Club, all children will receive a brand-new free book.
The library is set to host a Kick-off Concert for pre-readers on Thursday, June 9, from 11 to 11:45 a.m. Singer Mariana will bring a bilingual concert to Darien Library and have kids and families dancing to the beat.
