DARIEN, Conn. - Darien residents will have an opportunity to hear Christian Science lecturer Lorenzo Rodriguez discuss how he believes prayer can be used to bring peace, freedom and healing into everyone's life. Rodriguez will speak at the First Church of Christ, Scientist, Darien on May 3.
In his talk, titled "Spiritual Solutions for Desperate Situations," Rodriguez will share stories of people from every walk of life who he said have turned to prayer to find solutions to adversity of every sort.
"Understanding God as infinite good brings trust in the power of good to help us overcome worry, doubt and fear," Rodriguez said.
Rodriguez is a Miami-based teacher of Christian Science and a member of the Christian Science Board of Lectureship. Born in Cuba and raised in Mexico and the U.S., he received a degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Connecticut and worked as an engineer for a time. He later helped people with disabilities find employment before turning to the practice of healing through spiritual means.
The lecture is free and open to all. It will begin at 7:30 p.m. at the church, which is located at 2331 Post Road.
