DARIEN, Conn. Darien 3 White was finally able to break through the goal line this week, thanks to the fast legs and fancy footwork of running back Holt Matheis. But the Wilton Blue running game proved too much as it topped Darien White, 24-12.
On two occasions, Matheis took handoffs from quarterback Teddy Brennan and ran to the left side of the field. Thanks to outstanding blocking from Griffin Cramer, Ashley Hagander, Christian DaSilva and Ryan Blatney, Matheis got outside the defense and made it to the end zone.
The offense also featured good playing from Charlie Silsby, Michael Aronsohn, Will Harper, Zarek Swetye, Graham Purcell, Owen OBrien and K.C. Felt.
The defense continues to get better behind the strong play of Teddy Christiansen, Ryan Plank and Tommy Bock, who all had outstanding tackles. Garrett Martin, Griffin Cramer, Owen Sharp and Matheis also had good games on the defensive side.
