At 9:55 a.m. on Monday, March 30, Manchester Township police responded to a residence on 12th Avenue for a report of a burglary and observed an extinguished fire in the living room of the residence, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer said. Officers observed antisemitic carvings on the interior door and walls, Billhimer said. The residence is currently under construction and is unoccupied, Billhimer said.
An investigation determined the fire was intentionally set and that Dalin Brown was responsible for breaking into the residence, starting the fire, and carving the antisemitic messages on the door and walls, Billhimer said.
Brown was taken into custody and charged with aggravated arson, burglary, bias intimidation, criminal mischief, and criminal trespass, Billhimer said.
