'Creative Hackensack' Partners For Public Art Shows

HACKENSACK, N.J. — A group geared toward creative place-making in and around Hackensack's is partnering for present several outdoor exhibits this summer.

Creative Hackensack, along with the Northern NJ Community Foundation’s ArtsBergen have joined forces for three shows.

  • July, Art on a Stick: Inspired by artist Damien Mitchell, an interactive public art installation of images and messages mounted on wooden stakes, positioned along Main Street.
  • Aug. 6, CAT Walk Art Exhibition: Art, demos and live music at the “Artwalk” from noon to 5 p.m. at Demarest Place and 130 Main St.
  • August, Rain Art: Local artists create water-resistant paint designs that only appear when wet, to be discovered by passersby and brighten Main Street on rainy days.
