County Legislator Bill Gouldman is organizing the effort, with the support of the county Highway and Health departments.

“By hosting this event, Legislator Gouldman is encouraging residents and volunteers to get involved and make a difference right here at home,"  Putnam Valley Councilwoman Jackie Annabi said in a press release.

"The simple fact is, a cleaner community creates a unified, stronger community.”

The Health and Highway departments are donating supplies such as gloves, safety vests, and trash bags.

“The cleanliness of our community speaks to how residents and visitors view us,” Gouldman said in a press release.

“With this cleanup day, we are encouraging residents and volunteers to get involved and makes Putnam Valley a cleaner, greener place to call home,” he added.

Those interested in volunteering individually or as a team to clean up an area are asked to email Putnam County Legislator Bill Gouldman.
