MAMARONECK, N.Y. Counterfeit $100 bills are being used in the area, according to an email sent by Village of Mamaroneck Police Chief Christopher S. Leahy to the local chamber of commerce and town officials Thursday.
Westchester County police spokesman Kieran OLeary said this afternoon the counterfeit bills are more a local than county-wide issue at this point.
Anyone who comes across counterfeit money or someone trying to pass it should contact the Police Department at 914-777-1122, ext. 3.
