The expanded store will join the Walmart Superstore in Teterboro Landing, a 63-acre site formerly operated by Bendix Aviation Corporation, according to Catellus.
It will measure 156,163 square feet — more than 20% larger than the Hackensack predecessor -- said Dean Violgais, the CoStar Group's vice president of research.
Besides expanded departments, the new Costco will have a gas station with prices that Top Tier Gasoline says will be more than 70 cents per gallon cheaper than area competitors.
"Gas prices will be the lowest in the vicinity," General Manager Jim Keating told the Daily Voice.
The Hackensack warehouse has approximately 700 parking spots, but it's unclear how many the new site three miles away will have, Vialogis said.
A space sharing arrangement with Walmart should provide ample parking, a store employee said.
