An investigation into Cory Baxter began after New Jersey State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that an individual was sending/receiving images of child pornography from the internet, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer said.
Baxter was accessing images of child pornography via a Kik messaging application, Billhimer said. A forensic examination of Baxter's cell phone led to an e-mail address associated with the Kik account, Billhimer said.
He is charged with distribution of child sexual abuse material and possession of child sexual abuse material, Billhimer said.
