Next up for Jared is his first starring role as the prince in Cinderella on July 29 and 30 at the Tarrytown Music Hall. The seventh and eighth Grade Girls Cortlandt Lacrosse Team celebrated its season undefeated. Under the coaching guidance of Carson Jacobs and Pat Tandy (with help from Jo Anna Tivnan and Greg Carbone) the girls had a spectacular season. Congratulations one and all.On Monday, June 20 at Blue Mountain Middle School the annual Memorial Garden Ceremony was held. The garden was created in 1986 by Diana Roda as a place to reflect and remember children who have passed away while attending the school. This year, more than 100 students, along with their teacher Diane Swertfager, weeded, planted and mulched during lunch and free periods to prepare the garden for the ceremony. As the years have passed, the garden has blossomed to honor teachers, teachers aides, service men and women, the victims of Columbine and more. The Shield Garden, a Butterfly Garden, Pizza Garden and many significant plants and trees have special meanings as well. Each year, rosemary is planted during the ceremony as a symbol of remembrance. With thanks to the staff, administration, students, PTA and the community, this yearly event continues to bring peace and recognition to the families and friends of those who are no longer with us.
