FAIRFIELD, Conn. Fairfields second armed home invasion in a week occurred late Saturday night. Three men burst into a Lenox Avenue home and demanded cash. No one was injured, and the suspects made away with a purse and cell phone.
Though the intruders m.o. was similar to that of the group that robbed a Park Avenue couple late Tuesday night, police do not believe that the same men were involved in both break-in. If anything, this is more like a copycat crime, said police information officer Sgt. Suzanne Lussier.
The homes occupants told police they heard the doorbell ring at about 11:50 p.m. Saturday. Before they could answer the door, the suspects burst into the house. They reportedly said, Wheres the money? and Give me the money, as they entered. One of the robbers held a female guest by the throat and said he had a gun. The trio took the womans purse and phone and left on foot.
The victims described the suspects as three black males. One was about 6 feet tall, 275 pounds, with dreadlocks and wearing dark jeans, a dark hooded sweatshirt and a red baseball cap. The second was about 5-feet-4, with a scruffy beard. The third was about 6 feet tall, with a thin, athletic build.
Detectives say that because the suspects were not wearing masks, as were the Park Avenue burglars, they believe they can identify them.
