Cops Seek Illegal Immigrant in Ossining Break-In

OSSINING, N.Y. – A 29-year-old illegal immigrant is wanted for arrest after injuring two residents with a knife while attempting to burglarize a Yale Avenue home on Tuesday, police said.

Byron Lopez-Jiminez, 29, unlawfully entered a residence at 41 Yale Ave. at around 4:30 a.m., took out a knife and demanded money from occupants, police said. When the occupants resisted, a struggle ensued.

Lopez-Jiminez became outnumbered as there were multiple families living in the house, Detective Donald Farrell said. He fled through a basement door after cutting two residents in the head and face.

The injured residents were treated and released from Phelps Memorial Hospital in Sleepy Hollow, Farrell said.

Police identified Lopez-Jiminez as a deported alien who has returned unlawfully into the country. He has a history of weapons possession, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest, police said. His last known address is 38 Broad Ave. in Ossining.
