The pageant helps inspire the lives of young Hispanic-American ladies to take pride and promote their heritage and culture.
The competition is open to contestants who meet the following criteria:
- Must be of Hispanic descent, not just Mexican
- Must be single and never married, pregnant or have had a child
- Must be between the ages of 16 and 26
- Must submit two digital color photos, one headshot and one full body
- Must pay a $25 non refundable registration fee
Contestants will be judged in the following categories: photogenic qualities, interviews and evening wear.
A panel of judges will be chosen to help select the winner through a pageant voting process.
In addition, young girls will compete for the Little Miss Cinco de Mayo Peekskill Pageant. Contestants must meet the following criteria:
- Must be of Hispanic descent, not just Mexican
- Must be between the ages of 5 and 9
- Must submit two digital color photos, one headshot and one full body
- Must pay a $25 non refundable registration fee
The Little Miss Cinco de Mayo Peekskill competition is not a full beauty pageant. Two digital photographs and an essay on what her Hispanic heritage means to her must be submitted. The competition is primarily judged on the essay and the photogenic appeal and character displayed within the digital photographs.
The competition will be held on May 2 with the winner to be crowned on the same day.
