DARIEN, Conn. Without the specter of classes and homework hanging over their heads, young readers from Darien celebrated the end of summer with a concert at the Darien Library on Tuesday. To conclude the Read To Me Club program, pre-readers ages 5 and younger gathered in the library auditorium to listen and dance to the music of Brady Rymer, a nationally known singer-songwriter.
"I think we had more than 400 children participate in the program this summer," said Kiera Parrott, head of children's services for the library. Beginning in late June, children kept track of the books they had read together with adults, earning a prize book of their own for every 10 they read up to 50 books. "It's always a great success," said Parrott.
