Someone's trash can not only become someone else's treasure, but a piece of art. Who ever thought bottle caps could be so sophisticated?
The Weston Senior Center is asking everyone in town to keep their flat-backed bottle tops from soda, orange juice, mayonnaise containers and whatever else you can think of. The caps that are collected throughout the summer and into the fall will be combined to create a recycled work of art. Local artists, Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts, teachers, seniors and the rest of town will work together to make it beautiful.
The project was inspired by a similar creation in Finsburg, MD where a Girl Scout created Vincent van Gogh's "Starry Night" out of bottle caps.
Caps can be dropped off at the Weston Senior Center, near Hurlbutt Elementary School.
