Glynwood is the first farming business in the county to be "Certified Grassfed" by A Greener World. It is the only certification and logo in the U.S. and Canada that guarantees food products come from animals fed a 100 percent grass and forage diet, and raised outdoors on pasture or range for their entire lives -- in addition to being managed on an independent family farm according to Animal Welfare Approved's high welfare and environmental standards.
The high-welfare standards also apply to handling, transport and slaughter, including an annual review of slaughter facilities.
Ken Kleinpeter, vice-president of operations at Glynwood Center Farm, works closely with livestock manager, Donald Arrant, to raise beef cattle, laying hens, pigs, goats and sheep on Glynwood's pastures. Although the farm has been certified by AWA since 2013 for its high-welfare and environmental management practices, the Glynwood team was eager to gain the Certified Grassfed status for their grassfed cattle.

Consumer Reports has praised Certified AWA as the only "highly meaningful" label for farm animal welfare, outdoor access and sustainability.
