The people of Pelham have plenty of activities to choose from this weekend.
The annual Pelham Summertime Street Fair kicks off at 10 a.m. Saturday. The Relay For Life of Pelham NY, an all-night fundraiser for the American Cancer Society, starts at 6 p.m. at Glover Field.
Children can enjoy the 27th Annual Pelham Civic Association Summer Olympics at Glover Field Saturday morning. The Pelham Preservation & Garden Society hosts its annual fundraiser Saturday, and the Pelham Farmer's Market will be open that same day.
Dora Pinzon and her son, Nicholas Lynch, chose two of those options. Lynch will participate in the Summer Olympics, and then he and his mother will spend the rest of the day at the street fair.
"We usually go (to the fair) every year," Pinzon said. "It's very enjoyable for kids and the community gets together."
Pinzon said she and her son will eat at the street fair, but does not yet know what she will choose from the multiple stands.
Pinzon, a native of Colombia, moved to the United States 20 years ago and to Pelham 10 years ago. Her son attends Hutchinson Elementary School as a fourth grader.
Lynch said he will race around the track and baseball field at the Summer Olympics, go down the water slide and throw footballs through a hoop. He added that the game at the street fair where customers knock over bottles with a ball is his favorite.
Lynch first participated in the Summer Olympics at age four.
